Harry Potter live in Concert

Harry Potter fans, rejoice! If you’re a fan of the wonderful boy-wizard and are keen to relive one of your favourite films in all its wonder, you can do just that thanks to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Following the huge success of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,  fans will be thrilled to discover that Harry Potter live in concert is back for a third time at Sydney’s famous Opera House, this time with the film of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban screening while the score is played live by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

The ultimate experience for Harry Potter aficionados, this piece of prime movie and music magic will be a delight for all the senses, and an event like no other. Get ready for John Williams’ Oscar-nominated spell-binding music to echo through your ears as you watch Harry, Ron and Hermione, now teenagers, return for their third year at Hogwarts, where they are forced to face escaped prisoner, Sirius Black, who seems to pose a great threat to Harry.

One of the best-loved films in the cherished Harry Potter series, it will no doubt prove to be even more enchanting with live music and a spectacular setting to boot.

And if you fancy watching Harry Potter live in concert, I’ve teamed up with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets to this magical event on Sunday, 22nd April. Simply subscribe to my newsletter here for your chance to win – and if you’re already a subscriber, leave a comment below with the name of your favourite Harry Potter book to go into the draw. 1. Yes yes yes!!! My fave changes daily I think haha so today I will say The Order of the Phoenix!

  2. I took 6 months to move on from Goblet of Fire. It was a real turning point for the trip where the real stages of growth started and reality of Harry’s fate was questioned. Oh, and dragons.

  3. My mom took me on a snowy mountains trip when Deathly Hallows came out. Let’s just say I don’t remember much of where we went, only that I cried… A lot.

  4. How exciting! Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets would be up there as one of my faves. My girls absolutely love the books as well ????

  5. I think the one that manages to surprise me the most is the Order of the Phoenix since it just has so many layers! With every read, a new insight comes to light! But my favorite would have to be the Half-Blood Prince with all the teenage hormones catching up with favorite trio and watching them starting to grow up!

  6. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban have been my all time favourite from the first time I read it.

  7. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.- everything about the book sets the tone for the rest of the series. Harry finally having a life beyond the cupboard ubder the stairs.

  8. My favourite is definitely Prisoner of Askaban – the entrance of two of my favourite characters (Sirius Black and Remus Lupin), the Marauders Map, boggarts and all the wonderful magical creatures in Defence Against the Dark Arts, trips to Hogsmeade, Dementors, blowing up Aunt Marge, Animagi and not to forget our favourite Hippogriff Buckbeak! Would desperately love to see the movie live in concert!!

  9. I love all Harry Potter books. If I have to pick, probably the Goblet of Fire. I’m such a Potterhead and really want to win this.

  10. The Philosopher’s Stone is my favorite Harry Potter book. It’s the one that started the adventure, filled with magic.

  11. My favorite Harry Potter book is the Chamber of Secret, very mystery, full of twists and turns. Maybe because I was just like Ginny being a teenager in love back in the day so I felt related.

  12. OMG, The prisoner of Azkaban is my bias book of Harry Potter series. I really appreciate to have a chance to watch the concert version.

  13. I like all Harry Potter books and wont be able to pick one as my favorite. I would just say The Order of Phoenix for now, as it the transitioning one from being a kid series to a more grown up one.

  14. While it is incredibly hard to pick just one, I will always love The Philosophers Stone. It’s where it all started, where my love for Harry Potter started, where I always go back to. It’s home.
