Hello, I’m Lucy, a Bondi-based bookworm, bibliotherapist and library curator. I launched The Literary Edit in 2012, after a chance encounter with Daphne Du Maurier’s best-selling classic, Rebecca, changed my life forever.
I’ve been an avid, ardent, passionate, and devoted reader for as long as I can remember. There simply is no before – there has never been a time when I wasn’t a reader – and an obsessive one at that. My earliest memories are swathed with books; trips to the library, pastel-coloured copies of Judy Blumes and Sweet Valley Highs, dog-eared Point Horrors, novels as birthday presents; childhood nights spent reading by torch light, long after I should have been asleep. I consume books as though they’re a life source as important as food or air – though to me, in a way, they are. In my twenties I set my self the challenge to read the BBC’s Top 100 Books, and now—a decade later—I’m reading my way through the New York Times’ top 100 books of the 21st century.
I offer bibliotherapy sessions and personalised book prescriptions, guiding clients worldwide on what to read next. Whether you’re seeking a reading reset or a year of curated recommendations, you can explore my packages here. Plus, £5 from each session is donated to Book Aid International.
Fusing my love for travel, interiors and literature, I also curate bespoke libraries for hotels, Airbnbs, and wellness retreats, and I’m also a freelance journalist, with by-lines in publications including The Telegraph, The Spectator, The Guardian, and Stylist.
